ABOUT

TNT Rehab Consulting Services, LLC (TNTRCS) is a minority, women, and veteran-owned company.

The President and principal of TNTRCS is Architect Tommie N. Thomas who has more than 35 years of experience in the industry. In addition to his private practice, he spent 30 years as a government architect and project manager for the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Homeland Security.  His expertise and experience is  supported by a team of highly skilled engineers and design consultants.  Since 1982 they have designed, developed, and performed construction management services for numerous major and mid-size development projects in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

Gloria 'Jackie' Thomas, PMP, is a partner in the company and serves as Senior Vice-President and Operations Manager. She has a strong and successful history in project management for Verizon, a Fortune 500 communications company. Subsequent training and study in construction management has enabled her to transition to provide effective process management in support of the company's operation.

Tommie has operated an architectural design services practice for the last 20 years in the Washington metropolitan area, and now with his wife Jackie, they have newly established TNTRCS, with the goal of migrating the business to South Carolina. Jackie grew up in Florence and moved to Maryland to attend college and live out a career in information technology and telecommunications. Both having now retired from previous careers, Jackie has joined her architect husband, Tommie, in this design-build business.  On visits back home with Jackie, Tommie has come to love Florence and is greatly inspired by the robust revitalization taking place. They see an opportunity to use their skills and acumen to contribute to this coming success story and, to be back home with family.  As existing landowners, they will initially focus on the development of affordable housing to assist the city in reducing its backlog. They will also pursue other architectural, engineering and construction related projects within the city, county and state levels.

THE ELLINGTON

The Ellington is located at the intersection of New Jersey and Florida Avenues N.W., Washington, D.C.  The project consisted of 8 two-story and basement boarded buildings, which were redesigned into 24 two and three bedroom condominiums; some of the buildings included a third story addition to the roof to increase the capacity of the building. Architectural & Engineering Design, Building Permit Processing, and Construction Inspection services where provided for this project.

THE CORONA

The Corona located at 425 M Street NW., Washington, D.C.  The project consisted of converting a boarded four-story and basement rooming house into luxury condominiums. The challenge of this project was the building's Historical classification which created many design constraints. The building was converted into infill town homes within the foot print of the building, resulting in the basement and first floor containing two town homes, the second and third floors containing two town homes, and the fourth floor containing two three bedroom units. Also, included in this project was a 4-story elevator, common space in the basement, and balconies on the rear. Architectural & Engineering Design, Building Permit Processing, and Construction Inspection services where provided for this project.
